IMPORTANT NOTICE
The entire staff of Pastoral and Laity Ministries (PaLM) would like to offer to the Yazzie family its sincerest sympathies for the loss of their mom, Mattie Yazzie. Mattie was a warm and gentle woman who deeply loved the Lord. She did not only love God but she greatly desired to share God's love with her family and those living within her community. Her desire to share God's love with those around her was so great that she established a church near her home.
PaLM had the privilege and honor of working alongside this God-fearing, dedicated, and faithful woman for some 30 years. Her presence and warm smile will be greatly missed. But, we rejoice that she is now with our Lord and free of all aches and pains that she had to endure during the latter years of her life journey. Rest in peace, Mattie.
Due to the passing of Mattie Yazzie and other factors, the community at Little Black Spot Mountain came together to discuss how they should go forward. As some of the factors involved would take time to resolve, the group agreed that PaLM should postpone its 2023 trip to Little Black Spot Mountain and work towards restarting the trip in the summer of 2024.
In light of the preceding, PaLM hereby cancels its 2023 trip to Little Black Spot Mountain. But, we work towards restarting the trip in 2024. And it is our hope and prayer that you, the reader of this memo, will be joining us for our 2024 trip restart.
