"The Dig" FAQs
1. What is "The Dig?"
In "The Dig" we seek to discover, unearth, and reveal the history, stories, and other relevant data of the Asian American Christian community in the New York/New Jersey region.
2. What is the purpose of "The Dig?"
Our region has a long Asian American Christian history. It is filled with a rich deposit of stories about people, leaders, churches and organizations that is scattered throughout the region. But, there isn't any one place where we can easily find these stories and read about them to learn about our history, our heritage, our struggles, and our triumphs. The Dig seeks to rectify that.
3. How can "The Dig" help our Asian American Christian community?
As someone once wisely said, "We cannot know where we are going unless we know where we have been." Up until now, it has been hard to know where we have been. Our story is scattered everywhere. The Dig seeks to make it easier by putting our history in one place. In addition, some of the stories unearthed will help us to identify the "lost saints "who have made an impact on our region but have been forgotten. Other stories will inspire and still others will bless our soul. But, until now, they have been hidden.
4. What kinds of stories, documents, pictures, videos is PaLM looking for?
5. Can I submit an article/pictures about my current church?
We are interested in the past, the present and the future.
6. What criteria will be used for posting my story/picture(s) if I submit something?
In general, we desire to "tell the story" of the New York/New Jersey Asian American community. But, no one person knows the entire story. We all know a small piece of the bigger story that needs to be told. So we encourage people to submit relevant material and engage in the process of putting it together. Articles or documents submitted for posting will be evaluated on subject matter, the quality of writing and relevance to the history of our community. In general, political and/or divisive articles, pictures and/or documents that offend, deride or mock will not be accepted for consideration since they fall outside the purpose and purview of this website.
