Vision Church is a non-denominational, Asian-American Christian church in New York City planted in 1997 by Oversea Chinese Mission Church. Approximately a hundred individuals gather for worship each Sunday and a large number of these congregants are involved in small groups (called growth groups). Our congregation is comprised of young and middle-aged professionals, couples, and young children.

Ministry Position Description
Vision Church is looking for a children’s minister to join our leadership team. In this position, the selected candidate will oversee the children’s ministry, while providing spiritual oversight of the church in collaboration with the Senior Pastor and elders. This staff member will report to the Senior Pastor. Our ideal candidate will take on a full-time role, but we are open to part-time role candidates as well.

- Pursue our relationship with God both personally and collectively by making Bible reflection and corporate prayer integral aspects of our church life.
- Serve our Vision community by exercising our primary giftings and strengths and discipling specific individuals that God has put on our hearts.
- Cultivate a missional outlook by looking for opportunities to share and reflect Jesus and by being intentionally missional with specific individuals outside of the church.
Candidate Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop a vision and structure for Vision Church’s children’s ministry that facilitates spiritual maturity, relational growth, and church-wide involvement.
- Craft and implement a children’s church curriculum for all children’s age groups.
- Disciple, teach, and provide our children with a model for walking with Jesus.
- Partner with parents to facilitate day-to-day discipleship at home.
- Train church staff, teachers, assistants, and mentors to minister to and disciple children.
- Work with Senior Pastor and elders to provide spiritual oversight and direction for the church.

Candidate Requirements
- A leader with a strong walk and relationship with Jesus.
- Strong relational and discipleship skills and spiritual giftings in leadership, pastoring, training, teaching, administration, and exhortation.
- A heart for New York City and deep understanding of the City’s unique dynamics and challenges.
- Required experience:
- Children’s ministry
- Asian-American ministry
- Conducting spiritual counseling and discipleship
Preferred:
- Experience building and leading fellowship groups and/or family ministry.
- Experience with an urban church.
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master of Divinity Degree or equivalent preferred.
