Over the last 15 years more than 170 brothers and sisters in Christ from more than 20 different New York Asian American churches have served on one, or more, of PaLM’s 25 Navajo Short Term Missions (STM) teams (includes VBS, Tutorial and Labor). In the course of that work, hundreds of Navajos have come to hear the Gospel resulting in many of them surrendering their lives to Christ, numerous other Navajos having their faith in Christ strengthened and/or renewed and yet countless other Navajos moving “one step closer” to knowing the God who was and is our Creator. This summer, for the first time since these trips began, PaLM will not be sending any STM team to Little Black Spot Mountain. Instead, PaLM will bring the Navajo to New York City! Why the change? Here are some of the reasons the PaLM Short-Term Missions Committee are bringing our Navajo friends to NYC:
Trip Information
Dates of Trip: Saturday, July 5 to Tuesday, July 15 Description of Trip: Navajos of “all ages” (i.e. age 10 to adult) will be coming to NYC on the above listed dates. During the mornings of the first week (Jul 7-11) the Navajo will be participating in a Vacation Bible School (VBS) sponsored by Chinese Evangel Mission Church Queen (CEMCQ). On most afternoons of that week and the Saturday and Monday that follows it, the Navajo will be taken on “excursions” to see/visit the different sights and sounds of New York City. A general itinerary of the Navajo’s stay will be posted on this site at a later date. Get Involved - 2008 Navajo to New York City Trip Information
Through this trip all of us - the Navajo, our churches, and church members - have an opportunity to bless and be blessed as God uses this occasion to expand our world views, expose us to new experiences, and endear us to new friends. God is at work and you can be apart of it. It’s our prayer that God will “call you” to serve Him in this exciting and enriching endeavor. |
